All about Micro-Mesh® Sandpaper

What is Micro-Mesh® sandpaper?

Micro-Mesh® sandpaper is not mesh-type sandpaper, even though the name suggests that.

It is a very flexible, cloth-backed sandpaper which is available in grades up to 12,000 grade. Micro-Mesh® is very suitable for fine polishing type work.

Micro-Mesh® comes in a wide variety of styles, including the following:

Buffer Sticks  These are double-sided and are 8 1/2” x 1”, and have the following grades: 1800, 2400, 3200, 3600, 4000, 6000, 8000, 12000. Grades are colour-coded for easy identification.

Hook and Loop Discs - Variety of sizes available including, 50mm, 75mm125mm150mm diameter. Use both wet or dry. For best results, use wet. (Use a spray bottle to moisten your surface)

Adhesive-backed Sanding Discs MX Grade   Primary use is metal finishing. The bond in the MX is less flexible than in the REGULAR Micro-Mesh® so that you can achieve a high gloss on metals.

Micro-Mesh® Kits  There are a large variety of Micro-Mesh® kits available. Some of these kits include Micro-Mesh® Soft Touch Pads (including the popular 2” x 2”, and 3” x 4”. and Guitarist Kits), sheets, polishes, flannel cloth, instructions, sanding blocks to use in conjunction with the sheets.

Polishes  The beauty of Micro-Gloss® polishes is that they are micron graded so that you are assured of their grading, and where they fit in the grade range. There is a Micro-Gloss® No. 5 (15 micron), Micro-Gloss® (1 micron), Micro-Finish® (contains no abrasive), Anti-Static Cream.

Polishing Swabs  Packs of 12 available in 2.25”, 3”, 5”. Washable and reuseable, these swabs work well for any craft, art or hobby project where small areas need sanding.

Hook and Loop backed Sheets  Available in 305 mm x 305 mm, these sheets are ideal for cutting discs or triangle/delta shapes.
